LAKE BARRINGTON SHORES VETERANS SET NEW RECORD IN 2014 ANNUAL “SUPPPORT OUR TROOPS” CAMPAIGN!

Thank you to the Lake Barrington veterans, residents who supported the Lake Barrington Shores Veterans’ 2014 annual “SUPPORT OUR TROOPS” ‘Wish List’ campaign. These packages go to our overseas troops in harm’s way.

Together, you raised an estimated $6,260.00 in wish list goods plus $200 in cash donations, which cover a portion of the care package shipping and distribution costs. 2013 estimated ‘Wish List’ donations were $3,500.00 and $125.00 in cash.

The Lake Barrington Shores Veterans Organization is a service organization devoted to honoring retired military service men and women. We support Memorial Day, Armed Forces Day, Veterans Day, and do a Support Our Troops Collection Drive, all to honor and support our Veterans. We have a Memorial Garden, destination for honoring military veterans, living and deceased, for their service, by placing memorial stones with their names, service and service dates, in the grounds at the foot of and surrounding the Memorial Garden with its towering American Flag, flowers and plants. This Memorial Garden is open daily for LBS Veterans, residents, their families and their guests, to pay their respects to our military Veterans. LBS Veteran US Navy Commander (Ret.) John Betzold remarked, “Thank you to all our LBS Veterans, residents who have so generously supported our 2014 “Support Our Troops” campaign. And a big THANK YOU to LBS Rec Center, Lake Barrington Village Hall and Lake Barrington Field House for providing drop-off points, and Trader Joe’s store in Lake Zurich for donating the shopping bags for the wish list goods.”
